All programs are Monday through Friday. Children learn best in an environment that offers both a carefully designed academic structure and environment that encourages exploration.

The Sunnyvale Montessori House of Children has a three-year sequential learning program geared for academic and social excellence. Children entering kindergarten the following year we highly encourage that they  are enrolled 5 days a week to maximize their potential learning.

The syllabus includes phonics, language, math, geography, science, practical life and sensorial awareness. Both Montessori and conventional learning materials are used to ensure that the child receives a well-rounded education and is ready mentally and emotionally for elementary school. The child is allowed to develop at his/her own pace, without undue pressure to achieve. During the course of the day, periods of study are interspersed with time for play, music, dance and art. There are also breaks for snacks, lunch and nap.

Playtime:

Playtime is an integral part of the program because play provides not only relaxation and exercise but it also develops camaraderie and interactive skills. There is an area with play structures complete with slides and climbers, sand boxes, tricycles, toy cars and basketball hoop.

Lunch and Snacks:

The school provides nutritious morning and afternnon snacks. Children need to bring lunch from home which can be heated by our staff.

Nap Time:

After lunch there is a nap time period during which the child either naps or rests.
